Counter Strike: Global Offensive Beta on November 30th

The first person shooter genre has gone on to become one of the most popular video game genres on the market. As of late franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield have been in the spotlight more so than other titles that fall into the genre. While these games are popular now, Valve’s Counter Strike has long been considered one of the titles that really kickstarted the genre.
Originally released way back in 1999 as a mod for Half-Life the franchise has gone on to include several iterations including the most recent game Counter Strike: Source built on the same engine as the newer Half-Life 2. However, we haven’t seen a new addition to the series since Source was released in 2003 leaving diehard fans craving more.
Luckily, Valve has announced Counter Strike: Global Offensive which will build upon CS:S’ success and make its way to platforms including the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and even Mac OS X.
While Valve has remained quiet regarding an official release date for the game they have spoke today of the beta via Twitter. According to the game’s official Twitter account the beta will go live on November 30th. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated with information regarding how to get involved with this beta and ultimately your hands on the game early.
